Installing custom theme with GoDaddy (4 posts)

I'm trying to upload the Genesis parent theme to my GoDaddy hosting account. I can upload the files but nowhere in my Dashboard can I find a way to see or activate them. I go to Appearance > Themes and cannot see a way to install custom themes, only to browse WP themes. I've tried using Filezilla and uploaded the Genesis theme folder to my /wordpress/wp-content/themes directory, and the Dashboard stays the same. I've tried with the GoDaddy FTP uploader, and no good. I've even tried to install several other custom themes, and it's the same -- I get the files uploaded but cannot find a way on the wordpress dashboard to activate them. Please help.

    Are you un-zipping them first?

I've done it both ways. Using Filezilla I unzipped first then uploaded. With the GoDaddy uploader I left them zipped and unarchived them on the server. Both ways get the files uploaded, it's just WP still doesn't recognize them or something because they don't show up in the Dashboard's "Manage Themes" section.
