I have just installed the Genesis Framework on my new blog and I would like to install the custom child theme I purchased.
I can get to install new themes feature under appearance, then, browse then I click on the zip file I bought but it does not install it.

We don't support commercial themes here, have you tried asking at http://my.studiopress.com/ as they support their commercial themes there.
Generically speaking it should install just like any other theme but your vendor should be able to provide you with instructions for their theme.
