Support » Installing WordPress » Installing after adding features, how

  • I want to use WordPress as CMS and add new funtionalities around it for my site.

What I am doing :- Add new index.php, new plugins and modify some wp-XXX.php page code in my personal system and then install the new stuff with the wordpress default stuff with a hosting provider.

My question:- After adding code, should I have to use index-install.php again for installing in the hosting provider?

    Many Thanks.

  • Installing the hosting provider? What do you mean by that?

Installing the modified WordPress blog in hosting provider to bring my site up and running.

The installation script only adds stuff to the database. You can make as many changes as you like to the PHP files without needing to run the installation script again. The only thing you’ve got to watch out for is that if you change the structure of the database (i.e. adding more values to any ENUM column, or changing a column type) upgrading wordpress will most likely undo those changes.

But if you have no idea what I’m talking about, you probably won’t need to worry 🙂
