So I finally managed to manually install WP on my Godaddy server but cant log-in to the blog at all.

The username and password should be the same as I used in the wp-config.php file right?

Or do I have to set a user and pass somewhere else, like in the SQL database, which I have tried but obviously havent managed at all.

Not normally. The config file has the password to your DB and that should be different than the password for WP.

User name for install is normally Admin. Your password may have been emailed to you - I did it so long ago, sorry I don't remember.

    Anyway, try this
Go to your WordPress Login page (something like http://yoursite.com/wordpress/wp-login.php)
    Click on lost password
You will be taken to a page to put in some details. Enter your user name (Admin) and the email address on file for that account.
Wait happily as your new password is emailed to you.
Once you get your new password, login and change it to something you can remember on your profile page.

I cant request a new password or anything because my email isn't associated with the account.

When I installed WP the only "personal" details that were asked of me were the database user and pass in the wp-config.php file.

Whenever I try the lost password query all I get is the error msg "invalid username/email combination".

How on earth am I supposed to access WP after installing it when I was never asked to give the blog itself a user + pass at all during installation.

I was never asked for an email address.

I had problems with the "5 minute install" and initially when I finished and visited http://MYSITE.com/wp-admin/install.php I had error messages and after trying a few fixes still couldnt get past error messages. I left it for a couple days and when I checked back on it today it seems to of installed correctly and displays the log-in box.

Is the normal process to finish installation, visit http://MYSITE.com/wp-admin/install.php and you are then asked to give an email address. Because if it is then I never went through that process.

    Which leaves me 3 questions:

    1. How could it of installed without my input in that process.
    2. Can I access any PHP files on my server that would allow me to input a valid user + pass, similar to editing wp-config.php.
    3. Do I have to go through the whole process again, deleting the current installation and starting with a blank slate.

Probably would be the best idea. You know your db name, pw and server, which apparently on Godaddy can be a problem.

It really shouldn't take more than about 5 minutes. Delete all, don't copy over and reinstall.

Maybe use this http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress#Detailed_Instructions instead of the 5 minute version.
