I'm a brand new user. Just installed 3 themes to /wp-content/themes by unzipping them & uploading the folders (e.g. "anaconda") for each theme.
When I go to design tab, none of them show up in "available themes." I've tried refresh, and even logging out/in again, but no change.

I've had that same problem before. It is usually an issue with permissions. For example on your own computer the files/folders belong to you. However, sometimes that carries over to the server, so when the server looks at the files/folders, it sees that they belong to you and it doesn't have permission to use them. Does your FTP program have a way to change the permissions on a file or folder?
