Yikes! I installed a new theme on a website I'm working on and now I can't see anything, login, dashboard, the actual website, nothing but a blank screen. I've never had this happen. As soon as I activated the new theme everything disappeared. Help!

Looks like the theme may have some problems you can activate the default theme by rename the theme you installed using ftp.
Browse to wp-content folder and themes folder and in there you will themes installed just rename folder of theme you installed.

Hi therobotanist, I'm curious to see what actually is happening. For example, if the page is blank, is there anything when you view the source? Most likely you have php's error reporting set to off, so when there is an error, it is not show and instead you are simply given a blank page. Enable php's error reporting (from within your php.ini) should show you more details if there is an actual error.

Hi therobotanist, are you still having this issue? The following page has more information about dealing with blank pages. There are examples and screenshots to give you further detail:

Got it. Uninstalling WP from the host did the trick. Thank you for your help everyone!

I've just had the same thing happen as the original poster, and I'm glad to see this thread. I would love to "ftp in" to the site and delete or rename the offending theme, however, I'm not entirely sure how to do that. (Sorry, beginner.) I've tried FileZilla but it's not recognizing the site. Is there something I should have done to the site first to enable ftp? Please help! Thank you.

Your host provides you with ftp log in info in filezilla you can enter in host box enter your domainname.com no http:// and then user name and password are what you have from host to login on server.

Oh my gosh! That was it! My host had very clear instructions and in just a few minutes I got in and have access to everything. Thank you so very much.
