Installed blog redirects to "install" 404 not found (5 posts)

I migrated my blog to a new server, disabled multisite and successfully ran the database upgrade script. Now I get an error when I access the blog URL where it redirects to "/install/" and reports a 404 not found. The blog is in fact installed and I can access wp admin no problems. I have removed the .htaccess file, I cannot figure out what is causing this redirection.

Would clearing your browser's cache work?

can you clarify what you mean when you say the blog url? is yoursite.com fine, but if you go to yoursite.com/blog it redirects you to the install?

Get into your server via ftp or shell and be sure that there isn't some copy of WordPress sitting in a /blog/ directory somewhere.

For example the blog URL is http://mydomain.com/blog, if I access http://mydomain.com/blog/wp-admin/ I can access the admin page, but if I go to http://mydomain.com/blog it redirects to /install. Everything seems OK from what I can tell when I shell into the blog dir.
