   I have a small installation problem, but most things work. If I make a back-up of the hosted installation and of the DB, can I just make a new installation which points to the original DB? or is there an easier way?

   Which files need to be changed to point at the original DB?

   Yes, you can do that. The only file that you'll need to update is wp-config.php to point ot your origianl database.

   The only thing to remmber is that the DB will still store any settings that your theme or plugins have set up, so if you install the same plugins/theme again you will have a good chance that the settings haven't changed. This will only be a problem if it's those settings that's causing your issues. If not, then you're all good.
