I get an error 500 which is an internal server error.
I got a whole bunch of links listed… + something wants to open a popup 🙂
moshu, I got that also but if you look at the title, it says Error 500.
[Moderated for thread clarity] You might check your error logs, possibly need to change the permission level on the file.
its 755…….what else can i do 🙁

Error 500 is a generic term which stands for “Check your Server Error log for the actual error.”
sobers, you HAVE cleared your browser cache and hard refreshed after uploading fresh files, right?

You would need to ask your server host for the logs, then if you have no direct access….

I had the same problem on the same server (siteburg). Has anyone found the reason yet?
Dear Freinds,
I too registered on siteburg. As far as phpBB2 is concerned the install done by siteburg control panel works just fine. It creates the tablea as specified by you.
I am getting an error 500. I checked many palces on net they all say check your file persmissions. I checked that direcotry 755 and files 644 every things is in order. I did lot of clean install too. nothing works i tried a number of CMS software. infact i have kept all the tar.gz file there on the site and when i want to test i simple expand there and do the stuff.
in mambo i am albe to see the admin area able to log in and od stuff but not the froint page.
please help it a very good server.
regards,
I’ve registered on siteburg and tryed to install WordPress. After getting “Error 500” message I’ve investigated what causes error.
As far as I understand, error does not related to WordPress. Server is simply not processing PHP script the correct manner.
At some point of execution, on attemp to execute “require(…)” code PHP preprocessor halts. They are using PHP version 4.3.3 RC1, so it is possible that this is a bug of PHP, but not wordpress.
I got the same error upon installing too. How can it be fixed?

An error code of 500 is an internal server error. Since it happens on the server’s end, the actual error is deposited in your server error log and not displayed in your browser. IOW, Error 500 is a generic term which stands for “Check your Server Error log for the actual error.” Without knowing what that error is, we really can’t you.
