This is the message I get after installation:

Ok, I know I'm onto something. After thoroughly reading the instructions (always helpful) and paying close attention to the config sample file, I realize that I need to enter in specific information in order for the setup to work, such as my db (assuming that means database) name, user name, password, etc. However, I still do not quite understand what these terms mean. any way I can find out?

EDIT: After once again taking the time to calm down and look around for clues to solving this conundrum, I realize there is a whole FAQ for installation. If the 5-minute install thing isnt working for you, as it isnt for me, look there. It'll probably have the answers you are looking for.

Ok folks, for me, there was nothing wrong with the installation. I just needed to follow the instructions.

So pull up your favorite web browser and enter:
    http://localhost/wordpress/wp-admin/install.php

The error page only comes up if you directly open the install.php file.
