I am currently trying to move my wordpress.com blog onto wordpress.org. I've setup hosting and used Fantastico to deploy the software, but I run into a problem when I try to log into the admin section of the new software. When I type in the URL for the admin login, my browser is redirected to the admin login for my wordpress.com deployment. I think this is occurring because I upgraded and registered a domain for my wordpress.com blog and I want to use the same domain for my wordpress.org blog. I think I probably need to turn off the domain for my wordpress.com blog to resolve this but I can't figure out how to do this. Any thoughts out there? Thanks much.
If wordpress.com is already directing your domain name, you'll need to request that they re-direct it to your new nameservers. If you have done this already, there is typically a 48 hour lag (maybe more) because it has to be refreshed on all the DNS servers.
Have you seen this link?

When you purchase a domain name, you are usually given access to a control panel of some kind as well, where you do such things as point to your chosen nameserver. It seems like you may need to go into your your control panel where you domain is registered and point your nameservers to your new host,

Thanks. I'll give that a try and see what happens.
