    I built a site for a client on a sub-domain on my website at bbk.phoenixblue.com

    And I'm trying to move the files onto their server and upload it to their current domain at bleedbluekentucky.com

    I uploaded the files but I get a server error when I try to login (bleedbluekentucky.com/wp-admin)

    This is the first time I've done this and I'm not sure if I missed anything or what to do?

    Thanks for the help!

    I reviewed that and I'm still a little confused. After refreshing the link it now says "Error establishing a database connection"...what does this mean?

    I'm sorry I'm very much a novice at this so I appreciate your patience and help!

    It means that WordPress cannot connect to your database. Check your wp-config.php file.

    Ok, what am I supposed to be looking for in that?

    Again, thanks for your patience!

    Start by checking all of your database details.

    Ok I checked the details and the details seem to be correct on the wp-config.php file

    Refreshed it again, and this time, the login showed up and when I tried to login, this was the URL that came up:

    http://www.bleedbluekentucky.com/NewSite/bbk.phoenixblue.com/wp-login.php

    Which is a broken link and I'm not sure how to fix it?

    Thanks again!

    Looks like you didn't change the urls properly. See Changing_The_Site_URL.

    I tried changing the site url in the functions.php file as it recommended but I still keep getting the same error.

    <<?php
    update_option('siteurl','http://bleedbluekentucky.com');
    update_option('home','http://bleedbluekentucky.com');
    //this is the folder that houses the function files to include
    define('functions', TEMPLATEPATH . '/functions');...>

    Is this right?

    Thanks!

    If I was you. I'd scrap the whole install and start the move again - this time following the instructions in Moving_WordPress.

    I feel like this is what I did to begin with. Unless I am missing something?

    I'm sorry I know this is probably frustrating for you..I just don't know exactly what I'm looking for. It all seems set up right to me.

    It obviously is not set up correctly and I really have no idea what you have done. So wipe the slate clean and start again.

    I wiped it clean and re uploaded the files and am having the same issues. I'm sorry as I'm sure this is frustrating for you as it is for me. I'm not a programmer but as we are looking for another one, things still need to be done so I appreciate your patience and your help!

    You need to follow all of the instructions in Moving_WordPress carefully and in the right order.

    Ok I was able to get into wordpress and get that updated. However it doesn't look like all the files transferred over correctly..??

    If you look at the site (bleedbluekentucky.com) it looks like a combination of the old and new site.

    I tried following all of the steps correctly but obviously it didn't work. Any suggestions?

    Thanks so much again for everything!!!

    What files? Your site's content is stored in the database
