• Hello,
I just installed wordpress using a ‘1click’ feature with my hosting package.
I had previously been running another CMS site (stacey app), so I delete everything that appeared to be connected to that, so that it would not cause conflicts with the WP content.
However, now when I try to view my site I see this: (obviously i replaced the site name here to mysitename)

” Warning: require(./wp-blog-header.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /content/HostingPlus/c/l/mysitename.com/web/index.php on line 17

Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘./wp-blog-header.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/local/php5/lib/php’) in /content/HostingPlus/c/l/mysitename.com/web/index.php on line 17

Have I deleted somthing that I shouldn’t have?

My control panel has a default 2 folders, ‘logs’ and ‘web’.
Web folder contains ‘.stats’ and ‘wp’

I have added an index.htm and index.php for the moment so that the general public dont see an error message. But the php is just a copy of what was in the wp file.

I’m a total newbie to this stuff.
Please forgive me if I’m asking a ridiculous question.

    Any help greatly appreciated.
    CG

    Nope, still the same problem.
I had to create a new database to reinstall. Should I have done that?
I couldnt figure out how to delete the other one? Sorry, I’m a bit useless.
Could this be a problem with my host? I called them and they dont deal with wordpress issues, but if its a hosting problem I can get them to help.
    Any thoughts?

    Should I have done that?

Yes – that’s the best way to get a completely clean install.

I couldnt figure out how to delete the other one?

Try asking your hosts for assistance with this. They will have a database management application that will allow you to delete the database.

With regard to your WP problem,. how exactly did you install WordPress? Manually?

Not to worry. I got it sorted.
The site is appearing at ‘mysitename.com/wp‘.
I didnt realise that it would have this extension, so I wasnt looking there.

Is there a way to get rid of this?

Yes, but not an easy one:

You might first look to see if that automatic install of your host allows you to choose where to install WP.

Or see Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory. It’s a lot easier than a wholesale move.
