• Hi all,

I’m currently trying to install the latest version of WordPress on my local server. It almost works, except for the uploading of images part. It is not possible to upload any images. After disabling the “monthly setting for upload” I’ve gotten this:
The uploaded file could not be moved to /home/<user>/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/uploads.

If I put the installation in the /var/www/html/wordpress folder and file permissions 777 it works. But not in the user-dir. Also I would not want to use the 777 file permissions neither.

    The environment:
    *CentOS 6
    *Apache / Httpd
    *MySql
    *PHP 5.3

Have anyone had this problem in a CentOS/Red Hat/Fedora or other Linux environment, is it the same in Debian/Ubuntu etc, environments?

Who should own the folders and file in the user dir version?
    What permissions is needed?

Been searching this forum and on Google and found a lot, but it has not worked.

    Thanks,
    Henrik
