   when running wp-admin/install.php I receive a welcome-page and am asekd to key in my blog-name and e-mail.
   Pressing 'install wordpress' returns the 'word-press logo' but nothing else.
   I was expecting a password ?
   So it seems to me the installation failed w/o any error message.
   not sure if it's related: looking at the mysql data-base I see 3 tables created (wp-terms, wp=term-relationship, wp-term-taxonomy)

   I am a newbie, and try to run everything on my local-machine running abyss-web-server.

   Who can help?
   Where can I find more information?

   I changed my setup using XAMPP, and everything went smoothly, until ...

   It's still the same problem: my installation stops at 'http://localhost/wordpress/wp-admin/install.php?step=2'. I never receive a password! Looking at the mysql-database now I have 10 EMPTY tables, i.e. no wp-users have been created.

   Please help!

   Problem solved!
   My php timed out. After changing the value in php.ini it's fine!
