I uploaded all of the files in the wordpress zip file to the root of my site. When I go to the path http://www.mywebsite.com/wp-admin/install.php in Internet Explorer, I get the following page. "Oops! This page appears broken. DNS Error - Server cannot be found"

    HELLPPPPPP!

Where exactly did you upload wordpress files and folder on your server.

I have the following 3 folders in the root.

    cgi-bin
    data
    html
    logs

First I tried to dump the files into the root in the same spot as these 4 folders. It did not work. Then I tried to dump them into the html folder and that is when I get this error.

Do they need to be put in the same folder as the index.html?

They should be in your HTML folder

Did you upload the zip file or the content of wordpress folder after you unzipped the file.

Of course I uploaded the contents of the zip file and not the zip file itself.

Now after I removed the files and put them back, I don't get any error. Just a plain white screen.

If you have server access check what error you get when you try to access your link.

Strange. The html pages (index, Deserts, About_us...) of your old site are working just fine, yet the readme.html file that would normally be present in the upload renders a blank page. I can however, read the style sheet located here: /wp-admin/css/colors-classic.css

Is your site configured to serve php pages, and if so, is it configured for php5?
