i've seen the info in the documentation regarding changing WordPress to show in root:
    http://wordpress.org/docs/installation/different-address/

i would like to have my weblog show in the root as well. i currently have 1.2.1 installed and running in http://www.domain.com/wordpress. Other than the obvious (separating WP into separate directory), why do i care, or need to have WP installed in /wordpress?
Could i just have installed into the root? Why should i/shouldn't i do that?
    Thanks.

  2. You don't have to install it in /wordpress/. You can install it into any directory.

but is there any reasons for doing this, or against doing it?

It's all just personal preference. On some sites, I have it in subdirectories, while others are in the root.
