[resolved] Installation- 404 Page not Found Error- install.php (5 posts)

I've installed WordPress 5-6 times from scratch and am having a file not found error that is new to me. I use the 5 minute guide everytime and this is the first time that I've run into problems.

My password and database are correct in the config.php file.

I've removed the WordPress files and directories at least 10 times and new installs still encounter the same problem. I've tried older version of WordPress and get the same problem.

I'm not sure, but I think my problem results from being an add-on domain through webmasters.com. Off my primary domain, I already have an add-on domain that works great. (My main site is using WordPress as is the add-on domain.) This problem is when I'm trying to get a seond add-on domain to run WordPress. I don't want to run the MU setup of WordPress. I want each site to be independant.

Could the problem be a result of the localhost in the config.php?

I've checked file permissions and they appear to be correct. If I move the readme file to the wp-admin directory, I can access them through the web.

The site I'm trying to get working is http://www.culverphotobooth.com. It is an add-on site to http://www.cgmphotography.com. I also has http://www.ginnysfrieday.com as an addon domain that is also running WordPress.

PLEASE HELP. This is driving me nuts.

Your sites seem to be working.

I am having a similar problem here. Whenever I try to access library4africa.com/skippyproject, it redirects me to http://www.library4africa.com/skippyproject/ and returns this message from Google: "404. That’s an error. The requested URL was not found on this server. That’s all we know."

It is a general I.E error. Please feel to take a look for yourself-

I'm fixed. It took almost an hour with my hosting company but I'm up and running. I'm not sure what thye did, but they used some backdoor to get the install to work on their end. When it came up, the links weren't working properly until I went into the dashboard and changed the site URL from an IPaddress.primarydomain.addon.newsite.com to simply http://www.newsite.com. I wish I could share as it seems a lot of people are experiencing this.
