megmoI'm building a website for a client and they have Yahoo! webhosting, which I have realized uses a wizard that does not allow for installation directly to the root domain. I've searched these forums and haven't been able to find a clear answer, so I'm curious:
Is there no way to install WP directly at the root of the domain? Like, at example.com instead of example.com/blog? I've read that Yahoo doesn't allow their users to access the .htaccess file, so I don't want to install at the subdomain and then try to move it. If I install manually at the root, will that work? And how do I do that?
