    Hello,

Our website is currently running joomla CMS (www.floodwood.org) but we want to switch to WordPress. However, we only have access to the sites FTP and no info was given as to where the site is hosted. It may be on an independent server other than your typical godaddy host.

How would I go about installing WordPress through the FTP folder access? I know I have to create a database that must connect with wordpress but I have no experience in this. Does anyone have a detailed way of going about this?

I have dreamweaver running on my computer so I can use that if I need to create any files that I may need.

    Thanks a lot!

You cannot create a database via FTP. You will need to use whatever database management tools your hosts provide, so you will need to contact your hosts and ask them about it.

@kurtvon - Why not get a different web host? You can find very inexpensive web hosts these days.
