   Hello,

   I'm thinking about installing WordPress' include files outside of the web root and into some other folder. Most of this is nice and easy and will work well.

   The only concern I have is what happens with automatic updates? Would WordPress be smart enough to find and replace those files, or would it dump them into my web root and I'd have to manually move them every time?

   The automatic updates will point to your directory.
