  • You can install it on any computer – for local testing purposes. Whatever is on your machine is visible only for you.

If you want a blog on the internet – you need a domain, hosting etc.

Hello…I have been trying to run wordpress on my mac (OS 10.3.9) since a week ago but it has been impossible. I have followed several tutorials recommended by this website and all that I`ve got is a white page after the login window. I thougth that there was something wrong with MAMP so I decided to try Joomla. Joomla is working excellent, very good. So the issue is not with MAMP. I have been reading all the posts related with my issue at the forums and there are many answers but no one has helped me.

I still have the famous problem of “you must have your cookies enabled” of the version 2.3.2 and when I try to install other versions os WP all that I get is a blank page after the login screen.

There are a lot of people who has posted in this forum with the same problems that I have and there is not an answer yet. This is a mistery for me, why a lot of people ask about the same and there is not an definitive answer? What happens with 2.3.2? Do I have to wait for 2.4 or 2.5?

This is a mistery for me, why a lot of people ask about the same and there is not an definitive answer?

Since it is about LOCAL installations… nobody can see what the users are doing on their own machines, so it is difficult to guess.

But why there isn`t a guide to know what is the right configuration for installing it locally? How does the parameters on my mac must be set in order to run it locally.

I know that it`s a local installation but why there is not a guide to know what are the standard parameters for running WP locally.

I have to say again that this is not only my problem, there are a lot of posts related with this issue on this forum.

I`m just asking where could it be the problem in order to help the next mac user to do a really fast instalation.

Thank you moshu for your post.
