    Dear all,

    I need a help with the installation of new version of WP.
    My pages are located in the /www/home/pages/project -folder. I have a access rights to that folder when I log into the linux.server.com
    But when I try to update the wordpress, it probably try to install the files in the root of the server and fail.

    "Unable to locate WordPress Root directory.
    Installation Failed"

    I have tried to change the location of installation from database by phpAdmin, but it is not defined there.

    I also modified the wp-config.php

    ---
    ** WordPress absolute path to the WordPress directory. */
    if ( !defined('ABSPATH') )
    define('ABSPATH', dirname(__FILE__) . '/');

    /** Sets up WordPress vars and included files. */
    require_once(ABSPATH . 'wp-settings.php');
    ---
    I entered the directory location in ('ABSPATH', dirname(__FILE__) . '/') but it crashed the whole wp.

    Can you please help me with this?

    Before you installed WordPress, did you check your web-server setup by dropping a test file into the directory from which wouldpress would be served, and see if the server finds that.

    I like to use the following file, you can call is what you like, and just stick the following code in it, that will print out the PHP configuration for the server.

    <?php phpinfo(); ?>
