  • HI, I have seen a lot of wordpress themes that offer the functionalities I am looking for. FOR example, if you take a look at premiumpress.com they offer auctions, coupons, etc, but they offer each one as a separate theme. I would like to know how will I go to get new themes but I want they to work as plugins and the themes will keep the same, just with the functionalities of the new theme, so basically instead of installing the new theme, it should be a plugin, how do I go about that?

  • You can install plugins on almost all themes — but you have to be sure that they are compatible with the version of the theme and the plugin (and version of WP). You can’t install a theme as a plugin — it does not work that way.

Look on the plugins page for any plugin functionality that you want – -then look at the version information and if it’s okay, follow the installation instructions, etc.

Some premium themes do include more functionality built-in — that is part of what you are paying for. If you want that, buy the theme.

I do understand what you say… i will clear my question a little bit… i would like to purchase a classifieds theme… now… i also want to purchase a coupons theme… each theme has its own colors and functionalities. I install both themes… classifieds colors is red and white.. and coupons theme is yellow and black.. now i want the site to have the classifieds colors and functionality… but also i want to have a button for coupons… and the site should still have the classifieds theme active but need that menu option to open the coupon functionallity from the coupon theme… but not want the whole site theme to change… just need th
e coupon funstionality from the coupon theme… is that possible?

No, you cannot install two themes at once. You can, theoretically, modify one theme to add functionality and/or style from another — but if it is involved or extensive, you’d have to know quite a lot of HTML, CSS and PHP to do that. Or you could consider hiring someone if you don’t know enough to do that work yourself.
