   I had an installation at mydomain.com, running wp.3.05
   I backed up the database. The database prefix was 'wp_'

   Then at mydomain.com/2011 I installed a clean wp3.13, created a new database and imported the backup of the old one.

   In the new database, I changed the URLs accordingly to mydomain.com/2011. The wp-config file had the same wp prefix as the old one.

   I then went to http://mydomain.com/2011, expecting it to upgrade the database, and display everything.

   Instead it gave me the basic New Installation dialog.

   So no data from the imported database was recognized. To add to my issue, the export xml file from the old installation would not import to the new one (which was my hope!) Said there was an error and it could not be imported to "/var/www/vhosts/mydomain.com/httpdocs/2011/wp-content/uploads/2011/06"

   I am perplexed... any ideas?

   PS: There is a .htaccess file at top level, and another one in the 2011 directory. This one at present has permissions at 777. Permissions to wp-content/uploads are 755

   The database was faulty!
