I can insert pictures quite easily but videos do not appear. All I get is a link which shows the video in a new page when clicked. All I want to do is add the video so that it appears in post or page in the same way as the pictures do.
It's strange because the edit panel offers the option to insert into video but all it seems to insert is the link.
I feel as though I'm missing something very simple. What do I do?
Any help would be appreciated.

That's the standard WP video insert. It doesn't provide a player as well. You may want to look for a plugin.
Make sure you're inserting the embed code in the HTML editor, not the visual editor.

I have this problem as well, I tried entering the embed code into the html section and still nothing. Do you just copy and paste it in and save? Do you need to do something else?
If this doesn't work what sort of plugin do I use and how do I go about using this.
