   I successully inserted a picture. however, I get thumbnails rather than one picture. Also, how do I insert text?

   Do you mean the background image to the whole of your page's body? In which case, it's showing full size and is repeated because the CSS says:

   background:repeat;

   Are you intending for this to be the background image for the entire body of the whole of your site?
