   I am using WP 2.7 and when i put a photo in to my articls it comes up in thumbnails on front page, but when i put an image from any URL the image does not show up, instead i get a X inplace of the image

   I have chmod to 777 and it is still not working,

   I have tried several themes and the only ones that work is the default them that comes with wordpress.

   Can anyone help ?
