    Hello Christian,

Thank you very much for your plugin.

I’m trying to migrate content from Joomla 1.5.23 to WordPress 3.2.1 ES.

After filling all data, users are imported correctly, but not pages or posts.

    Content Migration
Processing Category: Noticias ===> found 73 posts....
    Processing 73 Posts... ......................
    Inserted 0 Posts

Seems it finds categories, posts and pages, but any data is migrated. At the end it says:

    migrating pages....
    migrated 1 pages successfully!
    script execution time: 39 seconds

But no posts or pages are migrated at all.

Before this I have deleted all posts, categories, links and pages. No plugins active except the migrator. Completely new installed site.

Any idea of what can cause this? Really appreciate your assistance.

    Thank you.

can you please send a mysql full dump of your joomla installation to office@it-gnoth.de?

I would like to test it with your data.

    Thank you Christian,

Email sent. Please let me know if you receive it.

    Best regards!

    Did you try @toasdesign’s fix?

    NICEE toastdesign!!!!

    This has worked!! Thank you!!!

    – Do no specify a MySQL Charset in either Joomla or WP options (leave blank)
    – Uncheck ‘Do codepage conversion’

    Hello Tradiart,
I am wishing to do exactly what you’ve requested… Migration from Joomla 1.5.23 to WordPress 3.2.1

I see your request is marked as “Resolved”.

Am I correct in assuming you resolved it by implementing the simple two step workaround offered by toastdesign?

Also, I’d be interested to know how you handled other issues such as 404 errors and minimising the loss of search engine results linking to your posts (i.e. preventing a bunch of 404 page not found errors from search engine results).

I am glad to know someone else successfully used this script to get from the same version of Joomla to WP as myself, because much of what I was reading online was for older versions of each, so I had my doubts about it.

    Cheers,

    Jonathan

Well, further to my last message (a few hours ago) I have now tried this script out.

It may have been updated since the issues reported above occurred. I had no issues with it (none that I’ve identified so far), and I did not use the tweaks from “toastdesign”.

I am now looking for info on the best way to handle the obvious search engine (permalinks) issue a site faces when changing platform.

I’ve posted my own message on the forums regarding that.

    Glad you sorted out! 😉
