Has anyone got any ideas how to stick a page's content at the top of the default front page post listing? I need a chunk of text to be displayed so that the site's focus can be clearly shown but I'd rather make it content-managable than inserting it into the index page.

Denis has a static front page plugin that should do what you want.

What I did was more sloppy, but worked for me:

I simply copied a snippet of my page content into a new post, with a link at the bottom mimicing the "More" link but making it go to my "Page" rather than going to the rest of the post. (which doesn't exist)

    Simple, sloppy, but simple:)
