Insert content (ad, image, whatever) on single page after specified length

    I’m interested in automatically inserting something (an ad in this case) ONLY on the single pages and after a certain length into the article. Ideally it’d be nice to have it insert after say 500 characters or something. Any ideas?

    I have a work-in-progress that inserts after the excerpt (well, after the first paragraph). I’m looking at adding other ‘positions’ like first linebreak after X characters, before post body, after post body… should all be easy.

    What kind of ads (single fixed, i.e., adsense, rotating banners from affiliate programs, custom links)?

    No… Unfortunately maintaining my current plugins, my site, and my paid work have kept me from finishing my migration of CHAITGEAR code over to plugins (of which this was one — on CHAITGEAR I can embed an ad after the n’th paragraph of a post).

    It IS still on my to-do list — but that list is long with continued improvements on the rest of the CG-PowerPack, and general migration of CG over to newer WP plugins. It’ll happen eventually. 😉
