    The code you need to use is:

    <?php echo do_shortcode('[ml-slider id=43]') ?>

    (replace the ID)

    To get it directly above the first post on the home page only, edit /wp-content/themes/twentyeleven/index.php and put the code just after

    <div id="content" role="main">

    I hope that works, if not please consider using the main WordPress support forum!
