Hi,
When I write a post or a page and want to use the 'add an image' button, the gallery window does not pop up anymore, nothing happens in fact. It used to work fine in the past.
I can upload files by going into 'media' and by using the 'browser uploader' but that way is quite laborious as I need to attach the files to the relevant post and pages and need to copy the images path and paste them into the page or post!
Can anyone give me any guidance on how to get this sorted? I am thinking to re-upload the wp-admin folder, would that be wise?

Hi,
I am inclined to scrap off my wp-admin folder and replace it with a fresh one but quite nervous about it...! Is that something sensible to do?

Take a backup and try it. you can restore the files when needed. let us know the results

Hi,
I finally got round to try the above, re. delete my wp-admin folder and replace it with a fresh one but the issue is still occuring - the add/insert an image does not work.
I cannot also not attach pics to post - the search post or pages does not seem to work any more (note that this was happening before I replaced the wp-admin) but it a couple of days ago this was still working!
Any help/advice on how to resolve this would be much appreciated!

While I figured out that the function I added in my functions.php file was causing the issue about attaching pics to post, I have not still figured out why the insert/add an image is not working?
Anyone has got an idea?

I actually found out why it was not working. A malicious individual managed to hack my server and put files that made my image uploader stop working. All sorted now.

ok for anyone out there looking over and over for an answer to this like i did.
I deleted the wp-admin
and the wp-incldes folders off the server.
then downloaded a fresh wordpress and uploaded the new wp-admin and wp-includes folder and it fixed every poblem i had.

Glad you sorted it out. I did the same as you - fresh copies of the files and folders. My website got hacked and as a result, dozens of htacess files were dropped in all folders and subfolders which was causing the isse in my case.
