• I just recently changed themes and have lost the ability to edit my posts inline after they’ve been published. I can edit comments inline, but not my own posts.

I’m not sure whether this is a plugin I need to install or if I need to add something to the template.

My site is over here if anyone needs to have a gander.

    Thanks in advance.

  • What exactly is “inline editing”?

Sorry if I’m not using the right term…

    1) I write the post in the WP interface.
    2) I click to publish it.
    3) I leave the WP interface and View Site to proof it, to see what it looks like when it’s published.

Sometimes I find a typo. What I used to be able to do is make changes to my text directly into my blog post without having to return to the WP interface.

(I can’t think of any other way of explaining it!)

I have never seen anything like that (although it could exists, nevertheless).
Maybe to switch back to the old theme to show us what were you talking about…

Only the admin can see the link to edit. It appears at the end of the text of the post.

Well, that is NOT “inline editing” because it takes you back exactly to the wp-admin Write/Edit panel.

The link is optional in themes – you can add it to your template file(s).

No, this is different. It opened up the actual post without going back to the WP admin page.

Thanks for your help… perhaps it was an old plugin that wasn’t supported by higher versions of WP!

Im searching this too! maybe there is a plugim for that! i will posts a reply if i find it for myself!

sorry, there is no such plugin! i tried even to search for paid one (So i could download it from a warez site for free lol :P)

But i couldn’t find it! Maybe this should be a feature for the next Version (2.6.3/2.7)

btw, is there a feature request “page” or forum!

I recall Mambo / Joomla having this capability.
