A link would help out a lot. What do you mean not being generated? Are you getting any kind of error?

When clicking on one of the post title links on the index page a 404 error page is called.
I think it must be that when I first installed WP I indicated I only wanted an index page with multiple entries with no individual entry pages. Now I want to change that and can’t figure out how to have WP generate the single entry pages.
Could it be php, obeying my original preference for index page posts only, or permissions not allowing the creation of single entry pages?
If either case, please provide specific php snippets I need to look at and change, or what permissions are required for individual entries to be created by WP. There doesn’t seem to be any setting in the account area to change the option.

You probably screwed up your permalinks. So give us a link and we will tell you what to do.
404 is not about permissions, it is simply NOT FOUND. 99% of cases is a permalinks issue.
