I posted this regarding saving files on WP and updating: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/72149?replies=9

I installed and now have WP working perfectly within my wp-admin, and when I "view" my site from WP-admin site it's displaying the index.php page fine. I was excited it was working - BUT when pulling it up from another PC NONE of my pages (index, posts, or pages) display, only a blank white screen

One concern is Filezilla. When giving the 666 accesses to the proper folders and .htaccess I receive the message on Filezilla:

    Command: SITE CHMOD 666 /james/www/wp-admin
Response: 500 'SITE CHMOD 666 /james/www/wp-admin': command not understood

Could these be a problem? In my hosting site (gearhost.com) I've authorized access to these folders and .htaccess.

my site is http://www.jamesvandellen.com -- but it's only the blank index.php page now (original site moved to http://www.jamesvandellen.com/index2.htm)

I've researched posts on posts and pages displaying, also changed themes and uninstalled and reinstalled. It seems simple and works great on wp-admin mode, but stuck getting it live

    all the best and thanks!

You made a big misconfiguration. When, I tried to go here:
    jamesvandellen.com/wp-admin/

There is a password window, not the one expected from WP, not showing the wp-login.php file.

Erase your WP folder and re-install it without changing any rights. You did something bad with the chmod command and WordPress cannot access his files.
