   Hi all,

   I am running 2.3.2 and I'm having the weirdest problem that I can't figure out.

   I haven't made any code changes for at least a few days. Today, when I go to the index page, it won't resolve (says request can't be completed). When I delete .htaccess file, it will give a plain white screen.

   Also, when I delete .htaccess file, it will allow me to access domain.com/wp-admin .... so strange!

   I'm using the same .htaccess that I've always used. Somehow, something's not right with it???

   I called up host and they say it's not a back-end problem. I'm not sure whether it is or not...

   I deleted all files from remote site and uploaded a back-up... still same problem.

   When I go to wp-admin, I can access all the admin functionality. I deactivated all plug-ins... still no luck.

   I've looked over the db, and, it seems to be okay. Also, from the admin panel, I can access all the data.

   But, the index page won't resolve.

   Friends... I need some ideas... please

   well, I'm learning things about WP every day, and, I thinked I learned something new today.... you see, I figured I'd switch to the default theme + see if that helped matters any... to my surprise the default theme had somehow been deleted from the remote site...

   I didn't know that WP wouldn't function if the default theme wasn't present in wp-content/themes???

   So, for the heck of it, I uploaded the default theme, switched to it in admin.. .and sure enough index and site came up ... i was thus able to switch over to my theme....

   go figure!
