Display Posts Shortcode
[resolved] Incrementing number (4 posts)

    Hi,

This extension is really well coded, but I'm new to WordPress and not so great with PHP and I was wondering if there was a way to show an incrementing number next to the posts displayed. I mean without hacking the display loop in the core file.

I need this to display a top 10 posts, with the order number next to the post. The order of those posts may vary over time.

I know this issue is pretty specific and may not be of use to someone else, but any help would be appreciate.

    Thanks,

Have you considered incrementing the number with Javascript?

By default listings are displayed as an unordered list. If you want it to be an ordered (numbered) list, use [display-posts wrapper="ol"]. More information: https://github.com/billerickson/Display-Posts-Shortcode/wiki

Thanks for your solutions. I went with ol.I had discarded this option cause I thought it was impossible to really style only the numbers, but I found a workaround.
