Increasing Width of Blog (And background Colour Change)

Hey all,

Just changed theme on my blog, and I like the new one, however Im having some small issues with it.

Firstly The width of the blog isnt wide enough,

if you scroll down, you’ll notice that the youtube video is too large for the blog, so I was wondering how I would go about just increasing the size of the blog so I can fit the videos in it without it looking out of place. I would rather put that space either side to good use then have it there looking pretty, increasing the size of the entire blog, or just the post section, either would be good.

Secondly, I was wondering how I would go about changing the background colour of the blog the light grey, I was looking to make it a darker shade of grey, and was wondering how I would go about this aswell.

I know these are farely “Newbie” questions, but Ive only recently started working with wordpress so Im kinda new to all of this.
