My blog has a huge traffic and I am close to the CPU consumption allowed for my hosting plan.
More precisely, my host noticed me that there has been an increased CPU consumtion since the 15th of november precisely, coming from
> update.php
> index.php
> update-core.php
> wp-cron.php
> options-general.php
This isn't an explosion in the CPU consumption, more like a sensible gain
And, frankly, I do NOT know why I have this annoying gain in CPU consumption.
Please, would you have any idea to help me find the reason ? I give more details below.

Why these precise files ? I do not know.
Why this date, the november 15th ? I do not know.
- I haven't installed or removed new plugins around this date.
- there is only one blog on my hosting account, daily stats : 55 K unique visitors, 220 K pages seen, in average. No peak around nov. 15th.
- my server logs don't show repetitive errors
- the technical security of my server seems allright, I'm on a mutualized host and the professionals are handling it (I'm hosted at OVH, one of europe's #1 hosts)
- AFAIK my blog security wasn't compromised, I reuploaded all the files from a backup previous to nov. 15th, allowed wordpress to perform to self-suggested plugins and core updates, and there has been no change since then
- I always update wordpress 24-30 hours after an announcement about a new version is made, never more. I don't believe there was a wordpress update between the 14th and the 16th.
- it is true I allow wordpress to auto-update the plugins and the core.
As I wrote, I'm lost. I don't know what might be wrong.
And if my host kicks me out of my current hosting plan, the only option will be to move to a dedicated server, but the price will be the double of my current hosting price, it will be a terribly painful blow :-
