Increase Video File Size Upload Limit (4 posts)

    First of all, I love WP. I've created a number of sites (using Artisteer) and my customers love it also. However, in this day and age of videos (including HD videos), I think the file size limit has to be increased. A demonstration video of approx. 4 minutes uses up the alloted 8MB, even in a standard format size.

    I researched the forums and tried the various suggestions (change php.ini, etc.) to no avail. This seems like a relatively simple fix for WP. Thanks for putting WP where you have thus far.

  2. I think you can do it by increasing the memory in your wp-config.php file by adding something like this:

    define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '64M');

    With 64 being what you want. Of note, though, it MAY be your PHP settings on the server which, if so, you'll need to talk to your webhost.

    If you're talking of the file size upload limit, that's set by a few PHP ini values, upload_max_filesize and post_max_size being the most relevant (it will assert the lower) and to some extent memory limit, max execution time. As Ipstenu mentions, you may need to get your web host to change those.

    Though not directly related to your issue, this FAQ details a few methods for increasing PHP's maximum upload size, execution time, and available memory:
