Just before my multisite went live I deleted 8 old test users from the network and also a few from each site, leaving only admin, but the user count still shows All(9) | Super Admin (1) for Network Admin. Each site also has an inflated count, which looks like it could have been the original number of users before I deleted them.
The operation of the multisite does not appear to be affected, so I assume a minor bug. I then deleted the extraneous accounts in the wp_users table, but that didn't make a difference.
Where else should I look?

Removed all extraneous records in wp_usermeta and wp_signups.
And finally...
Edit records in table wp_sitemeta, changing field meta_value to the correct value where meta_key is user_count.

Is there not a plugin or a wordpress fix for this issue? Seems pretty vital.

Who the heck marked this as resolved? My counts are off too. Does anyone have a permanent fix for this?
