Including sub-categories

I updated my pluggin and now–if i select a major category–the sub-category posts do not show… if i select the actual sub-category it works perfectly… thoughts?

Also, is it possible to select several categories that do not reside next to each other on the list? In other words, I can highlight a grouping (if they are next to each other), but can not select two individual categories that are not touching on the category list.
