In which caching plugin can you set only the homepage to purge when a new post i (6 posts)

From looking, it appears that only w3 total cache support this feature, where as wp-super-cache does not.

    Am I correct?

If so, is there a reason why not to let the other posts not expire for days? (assuming my site doesn't use many comments?)

    Thanks.

The homepage and the current post are the only pages that are cleared when a post is made AFAIR. Why not just try it as see if it suits your needs?

    Hi Donncha,
    I think you are right.

My question is if you might implement, in a future release, the ability to have ONLY the homepage to be cleared, and the posts remain.
My hope is to have the entire site mirrored in the html's, and I do not wish my server to build all of it from scratch whenever a new post is published.

    What do you think?

So you want to be able to update a post but not update the cache for that post, only the homepage? I don't understand why you'd want to do that. I could add such a feature but I don't see the point.

    Hi Donncha,
Sorry for not being more specific -
In my scenario, I have the homepage, old posts, and new posts.

When a new post is created, I want only the homepage to be updated (and for the new-post to have a new cache).
If I understand correctly, at the moment, if a new post is created - the cache for all of the old posts are cleared, in order to have the homepage cache also cleared.
If I am wrong, I am sorry, and please do correct me.

Also, if an old-post is updated, I would have liked for ONLY the caching of the old post and the homepage to be updated (maybe also for the relevant categories/tag pages).

Maybe I am missing something very basic in my request - if so - please let me know.

Thank you for the quick response,
    Tal

In W3TC, this option exists now.
