Hello,
I am looking for a way to add "mini-galleries" to individual posts. Adding and positioning individual images is easy enough using WordPress' default functionality, but I want to have several thumbnails, positioned nicely together, that would open a lightbox/slimbox/whateverbox overlay of the full image when clicked.
What's the best way to do that?
Thanks in advance.
I've known about Nextgen gallery for a long time, but I had no idea it can add galleries to individual posts?
yup... single pics, galleries, or albums
with various effects, slideshows, etc
That does sound good, but I can't help but think that perhaps a fully-featured gallery plugin is a bit of an overkill for me.
Although... if NextGen can add every "mini-gallery" used in individual posts to a separate gallery page where a visitor can browse through them (can it?), that would be perfect for me.
I forget the structure....but in NGG aren't galleries contained within albums?
If so, you could put each gallery in its post, then have a page that displays the album, thuis it would show all pics from all galleries contained in that album.
My advice would be to plug it in and give it a whirl and see what it does, but I'm pretty sure it do what you need
Thanks, I'll give it a go then.
NextGen has been around for a very long time, I vaguely remember using it several years ago with early version of WP 2.0. I suppose the fact that it has been around for such a long time and is still actively updated speaks for the integrity of this plugin.
