[resolved] In html mysterious quotes are creating a gap above my footer (4 posts)

Recently i've been making a lot of modifications to a site and a gap has now appeared in all my templates just before <?php get_footer();?>

If I use a browser html editor I see " " just before my footer code. Deleting this within the browser gets rid of the gap but there is no trace of it in my actual files so the gap is always there each time anyone loads my website. I can't understand why these quotes appear.

    This happens in all browsers

Has anyone come across this and found a fix?

For anyone else that experiences similar random appearing spaces: It would appear a rogue non unicode character got in there. Cut and paste the whole code back in any editor and it should strip it out and fix the issue
