In Archive Widget Issue

I removed the default widgets from the “main sidebar” temporarily. when i go to the website there is an “In Archive” widget. I understand this is the fall-back.

When I go back on to put, say, the search widget in the “main sidebar” and refresh the website, the “In Archive is still there.

I don’t know what is wrong. I’ve tried putting the search widget in the right sidebar as well (the theme option is set to content/sidebar) as well as the individual posts, and the problem persists. Maybe i’ve screwed something?
