Importing Tumblr to Worpress

    Hi,

    I am trying to import my Tumblr blog into my wordpress, I have read that I can do this by using the import tool and selecting tumblr. However, it is saying there is an error. I have tried other option such as exporting my tumblr blog as an XML but wordpress doesn’t recognize this format either. Any suggestions?

    Hi Krishna,

    I have tried the tumblr2wordpress.com but since I am using a version of WordPress that is over 3.0 it will not work for me. I have tried multiple times to access the other link, tumblr2wp but the website seems to have been taken down.

    Are there any other suggestions?

    As the site does not have an export feature, and as tumblr2wordpress.com does not suit WP 3.0 or above, you may try importing to whatever latest version is possible, and then update WordPress, after your site is successfully migrated. It may be a tedious and long route, but worth it if your site has some useful content and value.

    I have one other question, when I go to write a new blog it no longer gives me the option of “publish” it now says “submit for review.” I am still using version 3.42 the only thing I have done differently is to try to import an XML file. Is there a way that I can change it so the button now says “publish”?

    I don’t see submit for review on my dashboard. So, not sure what you are referring to.

    BTW, did you import the posts from your old blog?

    The submit for review button showed up in place of the publish button. I now am not able to publish any of my posts.

    No I was not able to import my posts from my old blog but was going to copy and paste them manually but now I cannot seem to publish anything. Any help would be much appreciated, I am under a deadline. Thanks so much for your responses.

    Can you post your URL (new, where you have problem)?

    the URL is loganhomesnc.com/blog but I’m afraid the only place you are able to see the problem is in the backend. I have found another thread that seems to be having the same problem but I’m not as familiar with wordpress and so am a little lost. Below is their thread

    Can you deactivate all plugins, revert to Twenty Eleven theme and try if you can publish?

    I have tried deactivating all my plugins and am a little nervous to uninstall the meta-morphisis theme because we have a programmer putting the some custom css now

    Then how will you proceed with the trouble shooting? Talk to the programmer, yes?
