previously i’ve been using wp 2.7.1, and since wp 3 multi site function is very awesome, i intend to remove that subdomain and add a new one thru my main panel. so that i will have less blogs to manage.

so back to the previous subdomains, it has bout 2-3k of posts and images.
    images is stored in subdomain.domain.com/wp-content/uploads/

so now when i’ve deleted the subdomain and add it to my multisite virtually, the images in each post shows up empty, since the new default images folder is domain.com/wp-content/blogs.dir/2/files

how do i resolve the problem?
it’s impossible for me to change and edit all of the images by hand/manually

you could with a script though. 😀

You can also put copies of the old photos still in the same /wp-content/uploads/ spot. Yes, they woudl be mixed up in with the ones from the main blog, but they;d still work.

    what script would it be?

my images url in post is subdomain.mydomain.com/wp-content/plugins/abblog/cache/

the original folder where images is stored, is in a cache folder for a plugin,

    public_html/subdomain/wp-content/plugins/abblog/cache/

and my images in post is like

    subdomain.mydomain.com/wp-content/plugins/abblog/cache/

i can move all the files in

    public_html/subdomain/wp-content/plugins/abblog/cache/
    to
    public_html/wp-content/plugins/abblog/cache/

and all post in my new virtual subdomain are able to load pictures without a problem?

sorry im abit lengthy, but i had to make sure of the end result im getting 🙂

i can move all the files in

    public_html/subdomain/wp-content/plugins/abblog/cache/
    to
    public_html/wp-content/plugins/abblog/cache/

and all post in my new virtual subdomain are able to load pictures without a problem?

Copy, don’t move, so you have them in both locations. Kludgy but it works.

    what script would it be?

    A SQL script.

    thanks andrea.
i have my hosting copied the folder
i think bout 4k of images.

btw, this is a bit off topic,
is there any way to duplicate the whole wpmu settings when i create a new subdomain?
cuz for example, my main domain theme is customized.
but when i create a new subdomain, and use the theme, it show up using the default theme w/o customisation.

and settings of each and every plugin has to be set again from scratch.
is there any way to duplicate/clone the whole settings/themes exactly?

Not yet. Someone is working on a (pay-for) plugin to do that. They’re not done yet, that I heard 🙂

@ipstenu: nice. will be waiting for it. any names/sites that i can be on the lookout for?

@mondmond88 – there is a cool plugin which handles plugin settings sitewide http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/yd-wpmu-sitewide-options/
