• I’ve installed WP, and everything’s fine as far as just doing the normal things, but I’m running into a problem with importing into it the exported file from my old MT setup (yep, another one).
I’ve edited import-mt.php to find the file to import as per the instructions (and double-checked it), hit the “let’s go” link, and then the next page stops loading right after the header graphic and the browser announces “Done”. Nothing else happens. No database errors, no “we can’t find the file” errors.
Can anyone give me a pointer as to where I’ve stuffed up?

  • Could be a 500 error, or a time out because your install of php has a low time out setting. Try importing fewer entries at a time. There are a few threads that discuss how to do that (per category or 350 posts a time or some such)
Just to check try importing just one entry first, and if that happens okay, import them a few entries(100-300) at a time.

OK, splitting up the import.txt file and putting it in bits worked a treat. Ta muchly!
